And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”

I entered the world arse first in Coonamble NSW some 50 odd years ago, to an effervescent teacher mother and an introverted farmer father. My formative years were spent on a sheep, wheat and cattle farm under the big, blue, barren sky, free ranging through the paddocks, gobbling up books.

My teenage years were coastal – more rainy, with the usual teenage difficulties. I sped down the pacific highway to Sydney for university and stepped straight into a corporate career without much thought or intention – not being lucky enough to have a particular passion for anything, I thought that would do me, and it certainly did, for a very long time, until it didn’t. And now I’m in work rehab, learning how to slow down, put the screens away, travel more but this time without the laptop, only the camera and an open heart and open mind.
